YPSILANTI, Mich. — Eastern Michigan University senior swimmer Catherine Lee Ha (Toronto, Ont.-Silverthorn Collegiate) passed away, Nov. 30, 2008. She is survived by her parents, Andrew and Patricia, and her two brothers, Flavian and Andre. She was 21 years old.

"The loss of a child is a devastating experience for anyone and our hearts go out to Catherine’s family during this very trying time," EMU Director of Athletics Dr. Derrick Gragg said. "Catherine was a very important part of the Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming program and her presence on the team will be missed greatly. Our program will devote its season to the memory of a great teammate."

Lee Ha, a two-time All-Mid-American Conference second-team selection, was instrumental in helping the Eagles capture consecutive MAC Championship titles in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Over the course of her three-year career, she was a member of four relay teams that captured MAC titles.
