Gymnastics Announces Three Early Signees

Steve Wilce has announced three gymnasts have signed the National Letter of Intent for the early signing period.
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Eastern Michigan University head gymnastics coach Steve Wilce has announced three recruits have signed the National Letter of Intent for the early signing period in November. The early signees include Erica Mahan (Rochdale, Mass.), Brittany Cassar (Bay Shore, N.Y.), and Kaylyn Millick (Washington, Pa.).
Mahan, a four-time national qualifier and one-time alternate, will compete for the Eagles in 2010 from Paul McCarthy's Giguere Gymnastics program where she has competed for six years as a Level 10 gymnast. Mahan competed with the Region IV squad in 2005 that placed third all-around at Nationals, while also placing third all-around in 2007 at the Level 10 regional.
Cassar, a five-time national qualifier, will compete for the Eagles in 2010 from the New Image Gymnastics program, coached by Robin Thomas and Carlos Harper. Cassar has competed as a Level 10 gymnast for six years and is a three-time Suffolk County all-around champion, while earning gold at the Level 10 Regional in the floor exercise. At the 2008 Level 10 Regional, Cassar placed second on the vault, while placing third on the bars and all-around.
Millick, a two-time national qualifier and one-time alternate, will compete for the Eagles in 2010 from the Gym Dandy's gymnastics program, coached by Scotty Miller and Karen Clark. Millick has competed as a Level 10 gymnast for eight years and earned gold in 2007 at the Pennsylvania State Invitational.
The EMU gymnastics starts its season on Jan. 18 when they head to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on the Broncos from Western Michigan University at 1 p.m.
