Swimming Teams Selected As Academic All-American Teams

Both men's and women's teams honored by CSCAA

YPSILANTI, Mich.- Both Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving programs were selected as Academic All-American teams by the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The women’s team ranked 12th in GPA among Division I programs, coming in with a 3.469 overall team GPA. Last year, the women had six swimmers receive Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors. The men’s team was also honored by the CSCAA, ranking 36th with a 3.035 overall GPA. The men placed a league-high nine swimmers on the 2007-08 Academic All-MAC team. Both of Peter Linn’s teams earned this distinction last season as well.

The men start the 2008-09 season with a meet with Michigan, Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. The women hit the pool Friday, Oct. 31 at Bowling Green to begin the 2008-09 campaign.
