EMU Swims Past Michigan State, Falls to Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team had a strong showing Saturday here at the at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, defeating Michigan State University but falling to Ohio State University at a double dual meet. EMU defeated MSU by a score of 173.5-124.5 and fell to OSU by a score of 195-105. The Eagles are now 7-3 on the season.
Senior Madeleine Pilchard continued her strong swimming, winning both the 50 and 200 freestyle on the evening. She also finished second in the 500 freestyle. Sheila Carson finished second in the 100 breaststroke, with freshman Elisa Torres finishing runner-up in the 200 butterfly. Catherine Lee Ha took second in the 100 freestyle, while Ashley Durand finished second in the 200 breaststroke.
The Eagles will be back in action Saturday, Jan. 26 when they welcome Ball State University to Jones Natatorium. The meet will be the last home meet for the Green and White and will serve as Senior Day. The meet is co-ed and will begin at 1 p.m.
