Schiffbauer records second goal of season

, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team played to a double overtime, 1-1 draw today against the visiting Jaguars of IUPUI here at Scicluna Field. 
     
     With the tie, the Eagles now stand at 2-3-2, while the Jaguars move to 1-5-1 on the season.
     
     EMU tallied 24 shots on the day, 18 on goal, while holding the Jaguars to just five shots on goal this afternoon.

    
IUPUI freshman Sheri Levack would put the Jaguars out in front 1-0 in the 34th minutes of the game with an unassisted goal, her second of the season. The Jaguars would take a 1-0 lead into intermission.

    
Freshman Stephanie Janssens would earn her third assist of the season with a corner kick, resulting in senior Sara Schiffbauer’s second goal of the year, a header from five yards out.

    
Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Manville picked up three saves on the day for the Eagles, who have played their second double overtime match this week.  
    
The Eagles will be hit the road this weekend as they travel to Oxford, Ohio, Friday, Sept. 28 to open Mid-American Conference action against Miami (OH). Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Green and White will continue MAC play Sunday, Sept. 30, traveling to Muncie, Ind. for a 1 p.m. match with Ball State.
