Three EMU Golfers Compete in Barrett Amateur Championship

Christopher Ross and Graham Hill turn in top 15 finishes
ST. ANDREWS, New Brunswick –– Eastern Michigan University men's golfers Christopher Ross (Dundas, Ontario-Parkside), Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario-Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) and Peter Sauerbrei (Kingston, Ontario-Kingston Collegiate) posted top 30 finishes at the 2007 Barrett Amateur Championship, held at the par-72 Algonquin Golf and Academy in St. Andrews, New Brunswick.
Ross, a junior-to-be from Dundas, Ontario, carded a 72-70-74=216 to finish in a tie for third in the 88-person field. Hill, a senior-to-be from Brights Grove, Ontario, carded a 74-70-76=220 to finish tied for 13th. Sauerbrei, a senior-to-be from Kingston, Ontario, carded a 76-74-75=225 to finish tied for 27th place.
Bill Seagrus from Windsor, Ontario won the event with a 70-73-71=214.
The annual event, first played in 2001, attracts World Amateur Golf Ranking points and, in addition, the winner receives an invitation to participate in the 103rd Canadian Amateur Championship being played the following week at the Riverside Country Club, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
