Eagles Dropped By Miami

Returns for Four Match Homestand Saturday, April 6
OXFORD, Ohio —The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team suffered its second Mid-American Conference loss of the season earlier today, as the Redhawks of Miami University earned the 4-3 victory here at the Hepburn Varsity Tennis Center.
With the loss EMU now stands at 8-8, 1-2 MAC while Miami improves to 8-10, 2-2 MAC.
The Eagles were able to win the first of three doubles matches as Vanessa Frankowski and Yana Parfenyuk defeated Katrina Lomidze and Linda Jirouskova 8-3 before Miami would take the second and third matches.
Heading into singles action the Green and White took the first three matches from the Redhawks. Posting straight set victories was Frankowski 6-0, 6-0 over Lomidze, Aditi Krishnan 7-6, 6-4 over Leda Pesatova and Parfenyuk 6-4, 6-1 over Jirouskova.
The Eagles would build a 3-1 lead before dropping the final three matches of the day, giving Miami the 4-3 win.
The Eagles will look to get back to winning ways as they return to Ypsilanti for a four-match homestand starting April 6 as they take on conference foe Northern Illinois. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start time at the Chippewa Club.
