Singles Matches the Difference in the 4-3 Win for EMU
MUNCIE, Ind. —The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team won its second match in a row today at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center against conference rival Ball State University. Despite dropping all three doubles matches, the Eagles were able to take four of six from the Cardinals in singles action to pick up the 4-3 win.
Posting singles wins for the Eagles were No. 81 nationally ranked Vanessa Frankowski (Stuttgart, Germany-Albertus Magus Gymnasium) 6-2, 6-2, Yana Parfenyuk (Ominsk, Russia-School #64), 6-0, 6-0, Aditi Krishnan (Merkhem,Onterio-Canada/Markvile Secondary School) 7-6, (7-1), 6-1 and Laura Fernandez (La Vega, Dominican Republic-Colegio Inmaculada Concepcion) 6-2, 6-0.
The Eagles will be in action next tomorrow Mar. 31, as they travel to Oxford, Ohio for its second straight Mid-American Conference match of the spring season against foe Miami (OH). The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start time.
