LITTLE Rock, Ark. – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team resides in seventh place at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate hosted by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. The Eagles turned in an 18-hole team score of 289 while Lamar University and Sam Houston State University are tied for the lead after the first day of competition with a 277.
LITTLE Rock, Ark. – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team resides in seventh place at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate hosted by the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. The Eagles turned in an 18-hole team score of 289 while Lamar University and Sam Houston State University are tied for the lead after the first day of competition with a 277.
Senior Bryan Haase, sophomore Chris Ross and redshirt freshman Brandon Lemons are all tied for 26th place with an even-par 72. The trio is followed by junior Graham Hill, who shares 38th place with a 73 total. Freshman Cam Burke rounded out the Green and White’s lineup with a three-over 75.
Lamar and Sam Houston State share the top spot on the leader board after day one with matching 277 totals. Texas-San Antonio (272) and Louisiana Tech (282) find themselves within striking distance in third and fourth place, respectively.
UTSA’s Simon Merry is in individual leader with a six-under 66, just one stroke ahead of SHSU’s Robert Gwin at 67.
The UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic concludes Tuesday with an 8 a.m. start time at the Chenal Country Club.
