Eagles Drop Season Finale

Central Michigan Posts 195.600-193.075 Win

MT. PLEASANT, Mich.-- The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team dropped its season finale today, March 24, at Rose Arena to Mid-American Conference rival Central Michigan 195.600-193.075. For the first time this season the Eagles did not have a individual medalist in dual meet action.
With the loss Eastern Michigan completes the season with a 10-8, 2-4 MAC, while CMU finishes 12-8, 5-1 MAC, taking home the regular-season conference championship.
EMU was lead by junior Jolene Worley (Orlando, Fla-William R. Boone), who posted a second place finish on the floor competition with a mark of 9.825. Worley would also go on to finish in fifth place in the all-around competition.
On the vault, Eastern Michigan would take the third through sixth place slots. Tawna Bennett (Jacksonville, Fla-Edward White) would tie teammate Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) with a mark of 9.775.
Duyen Zu Vuong (Ottawa, Ontario-DelaSalle) would lead the Green and White on the balance beam, posting a 9.825 on her way to fourth place. Vuong would later finish the all-around competition in third place with a 38.675.
The Eagles will host the MAC Championships Saturday, Mar. 31 at the Convocation Center. The Championships are slated for a 2:05 p.m. start time.
