Baseball Travels South for Series Against Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, S.C. — The Eastern Michigan University baseball team continues its 13-game road trip with a visit to the Coastal Carolina University, March 15-17, at Vrooman Field at Charles Watson Stadium in Conway, S.C. The Eagles are 2-8 on the season after losing a series at Arizona, two games to one (March 2-4). The Chanticleers are 16-3 (15-1 home record) after defeating UNC Wilmington 7-6, March 13. THE SERIES WITH COASTAL CAROLINA: Eastern Michigan holds a 1-0 advantage over Coastal Carolina all time. EMU defeated CCU, 9-8, in a classic game that eliminated the Chanticleers from the 2003 NCAA Lincoln Regional. Coastal was down 8-1 going into the top of the eighth, but scored seven runs to tie the game. Eastern retook the lead in the bottom of the eighth and held on to advance in the loser’s bracket.
