BOTH TEAMS PREPARE FOR MAC CHAMPIONSHIP
: Both the Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will return to the pool to compete for the Mid-American Conference Championship. EMU will serve as the institution for the Women’s MAC Championship meet, Feb. 14-16. The men will travel to Buffalo for the Men’s MAC Championship meet, Feb. 22-24.MEN DOWN MIAMI IN SEASON FINALE: In a battle for Mid-American Conference men’s swimming and diving supremacy, EMU downed rival Miami University, 150-88, Feb. 3. Both teams entered the meet unbeaten in MAC dual meets this season, but the Eagles now sit alone atop the league standings with a perfect 4-0 mark. EMU has finished with an undefeated league record the past nine seasons, winning 47 consecutive MAC meets, dating back to the 1998-99 season.
EMU AND THE MAC TITLE: The men’s swimming and diving team has won a league-record 25 MAC Championship titles and six of the past seven championship meets. Head Coach Peter Linn has led the men’s team to 15 titles over his 18 year span at EMU and finished runner-up the other three seasons. Last season, the women’s team claimed its first MAC Championship in the program’s 30-year history.
EAGLES TO HOST 2007 MAC CHAMPIONSHIP
: The MAC Championship will be returning to Jones Natatorium in 2007, as the Eagles will serve as the host for the Women’s MAC Championship meet, Feb. 14-17. This year will mark the 11th MAC Championship hosted by EMU since 1973, when the league meet was held in Ypsilanti during EMU’s inaugural MAC season.Ticket Information:
