Women's Tennis Downs Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio —The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team won its second straight road match this weekend, defeating the University of Dayton Flyers 6-1, Saturday, Feb. 3 in Dayton, Ohio.

EMU was able to set the tempo early as they took five of six singles matches from the Flyers. Vanessa Frankowski (Stuttgart, Germany-Albertus Magus Gymnasium), Aditi Krishnan (Merkhem,Onterio-Canada-Markvile Secondary School), Yana Parfenyuk (Ominsk, Russia-School #64), Laura Fernandez (La Vega, Dominican Republic-Colegio Inmaculada Concepcion), and Flavia Micati (Rio de Janerio, Brazil-Cejo Terejopolis RJ) all posteds straight set wins on the day.

In doubles action the Eagles remained perfect for the second straight day as each team posted an 8-4 victory.

EMU will continue its non-conference schedule this Friday, Feb. 9, as they host Detroit at the Chippewa Club in Ypsilanti, Mich. The match is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start time.
