Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at Michigan Classic

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team finished in fourth place at the State of Michigan Classic Saturday night, Feb. 3, here in Jenison Field House. The 16th annual Classic was hosted by Michigan State University.

The Eagles final team score was 193.125. Michigan State University finished first with a top score of 196.350 while Michigan took the second spot (195.775), Central Michigan was third (193.475), and Western Michigan rounded out the competition in fifth place with a score of 191.975.

Junior Jolene Worley (Orlando, Fla-William R. Boone) took ninth place on the floor exercise with a score of 9.800.

Sophomore Duyen Zu Voung (Ottawa, Ontario-DelaSalle) was the top finisher from the Eagle squad in the all-around competition, coming in eighth place with a score of 38.725.

EMU is idle until Saturday, Feb.17, when they host conference rival Ball State. The meet is scheduled for a 4 p.m. start time in Warner Gymnasium.
