Both teams remain unbeaten all-time versus the Bulls

 
BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams defeated Buffalo in Mid-American Conference action tonight at Alumni Arena.  The EMU men won 136.5-94.5, while the women won 144-97.  Both EMU teams are undefeated all-time versus the Bulls.
     
With the win, the men open up MAC action 1-0 and improve to 3-1 on the season.  The women move to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in MAC competition.
     
On the men’s side, the 200 medley relay team of Owen Grey, Ryan Fulkerson, Don Ellison and Ethan Crabtree started the meet with a win.  Steven Bowling won both the 500 and 1,000 freestyle, while Derrick Roe took the 100 freestyle. In addition to their 200 medley relay win, Fulkerson captured the 200 butterfly, Ellison took the 200 IM and Crabtree came away with the 50 freestyle.  Mitch Kellerman won the one-meter dive for the Eagles.
     
For the women, the 400 freestyle relay team of Steph Cholyk, Tracy Morgan, Hannah Burandt and Sarah Kowalski took first place.  Madeleine Pilchard won the 200 freestyle, while Erin Rhoades was victorious in the 1,000 freestyle.  Sheila Carson won the 200 breaststroke, with Elisa Torres winning the 200 butterfly.  Cholyk added a victory in the 100 freestyle, and Leeza Moser captured the 200 backstroke.  Becky Renkola won the three-meter dive on the evening.
     
The women will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 10, when they take on the Zips of Akron at 1 p.m.  The men are off until the EMU Invitational, scheduled for Nov. 30.
