Clair Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Finished in third place at EMU Open with a 4-1 record
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Eastern Michigan University wrestler Sean Clair has been tabbed the Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced today, Nov. 6. The No. 19 ranked Clair finished in third place in the 133 lbs. weight class at the EMU Open Nov. 3, and is a first time winner of the weekly award.
Clair, a redshirt sophomore from Turtlecreek, Pa., entered the 2007-08 season after sitting out as a redshirt last year. During his freshman campaign, he posted a 28-11 overall record, including an 11-3 dual meet mark. At the prestigious Southern Scuffle, he finished in fourth place after putting together a 5-2 record for the tournament.
At the 2006 Mid-American Conference Championships, Clair received a first-round bye en route to a fourth place finish in just his first MAC wrestling tournament.
Clair and the Eagles will travel to East Lansing, Mich. Sunday, Nov. 11 to compete in the MSU Open hosted by Michigan State.
