Frankwoski Competes Against the Best in the Nation

Loses qualifying match but bounces back with a win in consolation.
PALISADES, Calif. – Vanessa Frankowski of the Eastern Michigan University women’s tennis team traveled to Palisades, Calif., for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s All-American Qualifying draw held at the Riviera Club.
In the qualifying singles first round, Frankowski, who is ranked 70th in the nation, lost a tough match to #42 Christy Striplin of Georgia Tech., 6-1, 6-2.
In the first round of consolation, she easily defeated Olivia Colman of Sand Diego State, 6-3, 6-1.
She will face #111 Ute Schnoy of Denver today at 1:30 p.m. in the second round of consolation.
