TOLEDO, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team pushed its winning streak to three matches in a row with a 3-0 (30-15, 30-21, 30-20) victory over the University of Toledo here Friday night at Savage Hall.
With the victory the Eagles push their record to 6-5 in the Mid-American Conference and 16-10 overall. On the other side of the ledger the Rockets fall to 0-11 in conference play and 3-19 overall.
Three Eastern Michigan players reached double figures in kills led by the senior duo of Abby Reenders and Becky Reenders. The twins each recorded 11 kills a piece in the win, while Becky notched five total blocks (1 solo, 4 assist). Senior Katie Bates notched a solid evening with 10 put-aways and five block assists to go along with .526 attack percentage (10-0-19). Senior setter Kate Sulewski tallied 37 set assist and seven block assists.
For the Rockets, TaNeisha Winters added a team-high 11 kills and nine digs on the night, as UT hit just .110 compared to .345 for EMU.
Eastern gets back on the bus and makes the trek south to Muncie, Ind. for a 7 p.m. contest Saturday against Ball State University. The match can be seen live on ballstatesports.com
