Becky Reenders tallies 15 kills and eight digs

, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team swept Buffalo (30-25, 30-26, 30-28) in Mid-American Conference action tonight, here at the Convocation Center. Senior Becky Reenders led the Eagle attack tonight, tallying 15 kills, eight digs and two blocks.

The win snaps a three game Eagle skid and improves their record to 14-10 overall and 4-5 in the MAC. Meanwhile the Bulls fall to 2-23 overall and 1-8 in league play.

Seniors Abby Reenders and Katie Bates each posted seven kills on the night. Reenders also collected 14 digs and three solo blocks. Senior setter Kate Sulewski finished with 36 assists, 11 digs and four kills.

Richelle Bigelow led Buffalo with 10 kills on the night. Claudia Neba added 14 digs and Lindsey Schlegel tallied 32 assists.

Eastern Michigan will be in action again tomorrow, Oct. 20, when they host the Akron Zips. Tomorrow’s match will mark the inaugural “Dig For the Cure” promotion. EMU joins in a nationwide initiative to help raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The event also helps promote Breast Cancer Awareness month throughout October. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
