Men's Golf Tied for Sixth at Southbridge Intercollegiate

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team posted rounds of 295 and 292 to grab a share of sixth place following two rounds of the Mizuno Southbridge Intercollegiate here at the par 72, 6,992 yard Southbridge Golf Club.

Junior Christopher Ross (Dundas, Ontario-Parkside) (72-75=147) carded an even par first round as the Eagles were in 10th place after 18 holes. However, behind strong second round redshirt freshman Brad Lartente (Cambridge, Ontario-Hespeler Secondary) and senior Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario-Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) propelled the Green and White into a tie for sixth place with Wofford College.

Winthrop (281-280=561) sits atop the team standings after 36 holes at 15-under par while host Georgia Southern holds second place at six-under. Winthrop's Kelly Manders (69-68=137) took the individual lead on Monday at seven-under par after firing a second round 68.

The 15-team field begins final round action Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
