YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against the University of Akron Zips today, here at Scicluna Field. Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Manville recorded her fourth career shutout today.
YPSILANTI, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against the University of Akron Zips today, here at Scicluna Field. Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Manville recorded her fourth career shutout today.
With the tie the Eagles move to 4-5-3 (2-2-1 MAC), while Akron moves to 6-3-4 (1-2-2 MAC).
EMU held the shots on goal edge, recording eight out of 13 shots taken, while Akron was only able to muster four shots against Manville.
The Eagles defense was able to hold the Zips without a shot on goal during both overtime periods, while the offense dominated the Zips’ half of the field and by tallying three shots on goal in the extra frames.
The Eagles will pick up action Sunday, Oct. 14, as they play host to Ohio University. Start time is slated for 1 p.m. at Scicluna Field.
