Tennis Drops Second Straight

Eagles Defeated by Badgers in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wisc.
—The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team suffered its second loss in as many days, losing to the University of Wisconsin 6-1, today at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin.The loss drops the Eagles to 1-3, 0-0 MAC on the season while the Badgers pick up their second victory of the weekend to move to 2-0 on the year.
The lone bright spot for the Eagles today was junior Catherina Bestehorn (Ebenhausen, Germany-Iching Gymnasium), as she scored the only EMU point on the day with a three set victory over Chelsea Nusslock, 3-6, 7-5, 10-5.
Junior Vanessa Frankowski (Stuttgart, Germany/Albertus Magus Gymnasium), who sits at the No. 45 spot nationally, faced her second top ranked player this season in No. 17 Caitlin Burke. Frankowski could not get into a groove early on, dropping the match 6-2, 6-2.
The Eagles non-conference road trip continues, as they will be in action next Feb. 2, traveling to Cincinnati, Ohio to take on the University of Cincinnati. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time.
