YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Central Michigan tonight, 33-31, 30-22, 30-18. The loss dropped the Eagles’ record to 5-8 overall and 0-3 in the Mid-American Conference while the Chippewas improved to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in the MAC.
The Eagles were led by three players, senior Lindsay Piccolini, junior Becky Reenders and freshman Victoria Randolph. Piccolini tallied 14 kills and a block assist, Reenders added nine kills and two block assists and Randolph posted 10 kills and eight digs. Senior libero Ashley Cudney had a team-high 24 digs. Junior setter Kate Sulewski finished with 32 assists, 11 digs and three kills.
The Chippewas had a pair of players with double figure kills, led by Whitney Evers with 11 and Sarah Warner 10. Mary Ochmanek added nine kills and 15 digs, and Courtney Kersten tallied 39 assists.
EMU continues MAC play Saturday night with a 5:30 p.m. match at #21 Ohio University (11-2, 3-0).
