Volleyball Drops a Non-Conference Affair to IPFW, 3-0

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 non-conference decision against IPFW, 30-25, 37-25, 30-15, Tuesday night here at the Convocation Center. The loss drops the Eagles’ record to 5-10 while the Mastodons improved to 14-8 overall.
The Eagles were led by senior Lindsay Piccolini, who tallied 17 kills and a .294 attack percentage. Junior Becky Reenders added eight kills and three blocks (1 solo, 2 assists) and sister Abby Reeders posted five kills and seven digs. Senior libero Ashley Cudney had a team-high 20 digs. Junior setter Kate Sulewski finished with 33 assists, seven digs and a pair of kills.
IPFW had a pair of players with double figure kills, led by Cynara Martins with 13 and Amanda Pfister 10. Peachy Jankowski added 17 digs, and Jessica Dominiak tallied 29 assists.
EMU returns to Mid-American Conference play this weekend with a pair of matches at Western Michigan, Oct. 6, and at Northern Illinois, Oct. 7. First serve for both tilts is set for 7 p.m.
