Chrystal Dooley Earns MAC Award

Senior sprinter named Track Athlete of the Week
CLEVELAND, Ohio--Eastern Michigan University senior women’s trackster Chrystal Dooley (Westerville, Ohio-Westerville) has been named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 1.
Dooley came up with an outstanding effort to help the Eagles win the women’s team title at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational last weekend (April 1) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Dooley won the 100-meter hurdles in :13.90 and came back to capture the 400-meter hurdles crown in 1:00.38. Both of those times qualified her for the NCAA Regional championships, May 26-27, in Knoxville, Tenn.
Dooley’s two titles helped the Eagles record the championship with 209.50 points while Cincinnati was second with 155.5 points and Louisville was third with 124. Rounding out the field were Ashland (67), Findlay (54.5), Indiana-Purdue (47.5), Eastern Kentucky (40), Morehead State (11), Xavier (11), Georgetown College (6), Campbellsville University (6), and Wright State (2).
The Eagles are slated to compete against MAC rivals Central Michigan and Western Michigan Saturday, April 8, in a triangular meet outdoors in Mt. Pleasant.
