Ashley McCullough Named Co-Field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore hits NCAA Regional qualifying standard in long jump
CLEVELAND, Ohio--Eastern Michigan University sophomore track and field athlete Ashley McCullough (Dayton, Ohio-Colonel White) has been named Co-Field Athlete of the Week by the Mid-American Conference for April 10, 2006. She shared the honor with Central Michigan’s Mary Raney.
In competition at the Central Michigan-Eastern Michigan-Western Michigan triangular outdoor meet Saturday, April 8, in Mt. Pleasant, McCullough captured two firsts, winning the long jump in an NCAA Regional qualifying leap of 20-feet-3.5 inches and came back to capture the 100 meters in :12.29. McCullough was also second in the triple jump at 38-feet-6.75 inches and third in the 100-meter hurdles in :14.91.
Western Michigan won the team competition with 161.5 points while Central Michigan was second at 121 and EMU third with 116.5 points.
EMU will now head to Knoxville, Tenn. this weekend, April 14-15, to compete in the Sea-Ray Relays.
