YPSILANTI, Mich. –
The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team increased its winning streak to seven as the Eagles swept Mid-American Conference East Division foe Kent State on Senior Night here at the Convocation Center. The Eagles won the match 3-0 (30-20, 30-27, 30-28).

With the win the Eagles move to 12-14 (6-8 MAC) on the year while Kent State drops to 13-13 (6-8 MAC).

Senior Lindsay Piccolini made the most of her final home match notching a match-best 18 kills with seven blocks (1 solo, 6 assist). Junior Becky Reenders also chipped with 10 kills and six total blocks. Senior Ashley Cudney tallied at match best 20 digs while junior Kate Sulewski added 41 set assists.

Kent State was paced with three players recording seven kills, Anja Knabe-Paulsen, Sarah Wilber and Lindsay Daniels.

In game one, the Eagles jumped out to an 18-8 lead and never looked back taking the game 30-20 for a 1-0 match lead.

The second game was nip and tuck in the beginning with EMU building an early 13-6 lead. Kent State responded to pull within five on two different occasions at 15-10 and 26-21 respectively. The Golden Flashes then used a 6-2 run to cut the lead to 29-27, but the Eagles were able to hang on for the 30-27 victory to take a 2-0 lead.

Kent State came out with more intensity in game three to take its first lead of the match at 12-10. EMU rallied going on an 8-0 run to retake the lead at 18-12. However, KSU responded with an 8-2 run to pull within three, 20-18. The Golden Flashes kept the pressure on outscoring EMU 7-5 over the next 12 points to tie the score at 25-25. Eastern responded down the stretch to take the game 30-28 and win the match 3-0.

The Eagles hit the road for a match against rival Ball State Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.
