Wrestling Preseason Poll Released

Clair, Thompson, Mancuso, Lyssiotis Lead EMU

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Mid-American Conference released the wrestling preseason poll today with Central Michigan picked to win its second straight MAC Championship, as voted by the head coaches. Eastern Michigan had four wrestlers selected to finish in the top four of their respective weight class.

Seniors Anthony Lyssiotis (Oxford, Mich.-Oxford) and Jermain Thompson (Akron, Ohio-Kenmore), junior Corey Mancuso (Brockway, Penn.-Brockway Area) and sophomore Sean Clair (Turtlecreek, Penn.-Plum) were selected from Eastern Michigan.

Rankings will be released on the second Tuesday of each month throughout the season, with one additonal ranking system in January and February. First-year head coach Derek DelPorto and the Eagles begin the season Nov. 4, hosting the EMU Open at Canton High School in Canton, Mich.
