AMHERST, N.Y. — Junior wide receiever Eric Deslauriers (Gatineau, Quebec, Canada-Lennoxville College Prep-Champlain College Prep) caught two touchdown passes from senior quarterback Matt Bohnet (Grand Ledge, Mich.-Grand Ledge (University of Iowa)) as the Eastern Michigan University football team defeated Buffalo, 38-14, Saturday afternoon at UB Stadium.

With the victory the Eagles improve to 4-7 (3-5 MAC), while the Bulls finish the 2005 campaign with a 1-10 (1-7 MAC) mark.

Deslauriers broke the EMU career-record for touchdown receptions with 22, surpassing Kevin Walter who had 20 touchdown catches from 1999-2002.  He caught 10 passes Saturday for 105 yards.

Senior tailback Anthony Sherrell (Roseville, Mich.-Orchard Lake St. Mary's) added two touchdowns and rushed for 112 yards on 15 carries. Bohnet was 10-for-17 for 99 yards before leaving in the third quarter with an injury. Redshirt freshman Tyler Jones (Belleville, Mich.-Belleville) threw for another 48 yards, completing 5-of-11 passes while rushing for 54 yards.

In Head Coach Jim Hofher's last game, Buffalo had 441 yards of total offense but gave up five turnovers. Hofher has coached the Bulls since 2001 and finished with a mark of 8-49.

Drew Willy threw for second quarter scores to Chad Upshaw and Jeff Green for Buffalo. Willy had four passes intercepted, including one returned 43 yards by junior linebacker  Michael Richardson (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis-Harper (Ill.) Junior College) for a touchdown.

The Green and White scored first when Sherrell took a pitch from Jones and ran 47 yards. Buffalo answered with a nine-play, 57-yard drive capped by Willy's pass to Upshaw.

Eastern Michigan drove 73 yards, scored on Deslauriers' 18-yard catch, and increased its lead to 17-7 on junior placekicker Andrew Wellock's school-record 52-yard field goal.
