Women's Golf Finishes Fifth at Notre Dame Invitational

Sophomore Catherine Fortin led the Eagles with a fourth place finish
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished in fifth place with a three-round total of 949 (324-312-313) at the Notre Dame Invitational on the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind., Sept. 10-11.
Sophomore Catherine Fortin fired a career-best 227 (80-74-73) en route to a fourth place finish, while senior Jamee Plastow and junior Katie Strawser tied for 40th place with a 244. Sophomore Paola Sanchez and freshman Stephany Fleet rounded out the lineup, shooting a 246 (81-85-80) and 250 (83-79-88), respectively.
Indiana's Shannon Johnson took home medalist honors at seven-over par 223 (72-76-76). Notre Dame claimed the team champion with a 929 (311-306-312).
