Drew Denisco is in his fourth season as an assistant coach for Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball in 2024-25 and will continue his work with the Eagles’ wing players on the court.

In his third season, Eastern was 13-18 and 6-12 in MAC play. The Eagles closed the season by winning four of the last seven games, including a last-second victory over then-MAC-leading University of Akron, March 5. Tyson Acuff averaged 21.7 points per game, which led the MAC and ranked seventh in the nation.

The Eagles retained the Michigan MAC Trophy after finishing 2022-23 with a 2-1 combined record against Western Michigan and Central Michigan. Emoni Bates, who averaged 19.2 points per game, was drafted in the second round and 49th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers, marking EMU’s 15th NBA draft pick.

EMU finished 2022-23 8-23 overall and 5-13 in conference action. In his first season with Eastern, Denisco worked with the wing players, including Nate Scott and Darion Spottsville. Scott was the team’s leader in rebounding (5.4/gm), was second in blocks (22), and fourth in scoring (8.0) while Spottsville led the team in steals (935) and was third in rebounds (4.8/gm).

Prior to his arrival to Ypsilanti, Denisco spent the six season as the video coordinator for the Michigan State men’s basketball program. The Worthington, Ohio native assisted the coaching staff in breaking down game and practice video to create individual player edits for the Spartans along with opponent scouting materials.

Denisco spent three seasons as a seasonal video assistant coordinator with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, where he worked under the direction of former Spartan manager Dan Vincent.

Prior to joining the Cavaliers, he spent two seasons at the University of Akron, serving as graduate manager and then video coordinator while completing a master’s degree in sport administration (2012). He spent one year as a graduate manager at Cleveland State in 2009-10.

Denisco earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wittenberg University in 2009, where he played one season before later serving as a student assistant for the men’s basketball team.

Denisco and his wife Allison have a daughter, Jordan and two sons, Carter and Tyler.
