Jordan Doole

Jordan Doole enters his first season as an assistant pitching coach/director of player development in the 2026-27 academic year.
Doole arrives in Ypsilanti after most recently serving two seasons as the pitching coach for the University of the Cumberlands, where he was instrumental in the Patriots winning Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament championships in 2025 and 2026.
In 2026, UC completed an impressive 48-10 campaign, winning the Mid-South Conference regular season and tournament. The Patriots were selected to host the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Opening Round for the fourth-consecutive season. As a pitching staff, UC finished fourth in the NAIA in wins (48), fourth in strikeouts (521), fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.8), fourth in strikeouts per nine innings (10.24), and ninth in WHIP. The Patriots earned MSC Pitcher of the Year honors for the second-consecutive season following an outstanding campaign by Wes Culley.
Doole also mentored two first team all-conference pitchers in Brayden Stewart and Justin Cortez. After the season, two Patriot arms signed professional contracts including Wes Culley (NY Boulders / Lake Erie Crushers) and Jackson Mayo (State College Spikes). Four more pitchers moved on to the NCAA Division I level after the season including Ethan Coronel & Jaden Morris (Houston Christian), Brayden Stewart (Gonzaga), and Amari Yolas (San Jose State).
In 2025, Cumberlands finished with a 50-12 record, winning the Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship, NAIA Opening Round (Williamsburg Bracket), and won two games at the Avista NAIA World Series for the first time in program history.
Additionally, the pitching staff set records in several statistical categories. Kailen Hamson broke the single season strikeout record with (127) and is fourth in program history in career strikeouts with (206). Knicko Billings tossed 91.1 innings pitched in a single season, the second most in program history, and is tied for second in career wins with (27). JD Price broke the single season appearance program record with (27) while also recording 10 saves. Jake Kmiecik moved into third all-time in appearances (61) & fourth all-time in career wins (21).
The pitching staff finished third nationally in wins (50), fourth in innings pitched (491.1), third in strikeouts (558), fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.08), eighth in strikeouts per nine innings (10.22), ninth in WHIP (1.37), and tied for third in saves (16). The Patriots had three NAIA All-Americans, six MSC First-Team All-Conference Selections, two second team all-conference selections, and two gold gloves. Patriot pitchers also took home MSC Pitcher of the Week Honors eight times. Charlie Muniz led the NAIA in home runs (36) and runs batted in (96), and was the first Patriot to be named NAIA Player of the Year and MSC Player of the Year, while Hamson garnered MSC Pitcher of the Year honors.
Kailen Hamson was selected in the MLB Draft in the eighth round with the 244th pick by the Baltimore Orioles, becoming the highest draft pick in program history. Charlie Muniz also signed a professional contract in the Atlantic League with the Lexington Legends. Left-handed pitcher Cooper Morgan also signed a professional contract with the Quebec Capitales in the Frontier Baseball League.
Doole arrived at Cumberlands after graduating with a master’s in sport management from Texas A&M in 2024. He spent the 2024 season as a member of the Texas A&M baseball staff, serving as an operations and analytics intern. The Aggies concluded the season with the best mark in school history with an overall record of 53-15, winning the College Station Regional & Super Regional, culminating in a national runner-up finish.
After the season, Doole served as the Pitching Coach for the Full Count Rhythm of the Prospect League in the summer of 2024.
Prior to his time at Texas A&M, Doole was the pitching coach for his alma mater, Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, Calif., for two seasons. Under his tutelage, the pitching staff helped contribute to two league titles, as well as a section championship runner-up and state semifinals finish. The pitching staff also finished with a school record 1.95 ERA in 2023.
In 2022, he founded Workhorse Baseball, a growing baseball business that offers online coaching, private training, and prospect videos. He started Workhorse while finishing up his bachelor’s degree at UC San Diego and coaching travel baseball.
Doole has also spent time working at both the Texas Baseball Ranch in Montgomery, Texas, and Tread Athletics in Pineville, N.C. He has mentored a number of players who have gone on to play collegiately and professionally.
Doole played at Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, Calif., and was 2018 Team MVP and Pitcher of the Year. He was also a first team all-league selection.
