Shweta Sangwan enters her first year as a graduate assistant for the Eastern Michigan University tennis program.
During the 2021-22 season, Sangwan assisted the team to a 15-16 overall record (3-7 MAC). Moreover, she coached Prerna Vichare to a Second-Team All-MAC selection in her freshman season, and saw Luisa Pelayo receive the Leann Grimes Davidge Sportsmanship Award, voted on by the league’s head coaches.
Before arriving at Eastern Michigan, Sangwan attended the University of Oregon from 2015-19. During her time there, she ranked as high as 10th in the country in doubles, 42nd in singles, and was named All-PAC-12 Honorable Mention in 2018.
After Oregon, Sangwan spent two years as a consultant for Wayfair. The graduate assistant attended IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. for high school, where she made a quarterfinals appearance at the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships.
Sanwan earned a bachelor’s degree from Oregon in Journalism with a focus in advertising/ business in 2019.
