Maddie Tretter
Maddie Tretter begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Eastern Michigan swimming and diving program in 2020-21.

During her first season at EMU, Tretter aided the Eagles to a third-place finish at the Mid-American Conference Championships, including two individual MAC titles by way of Alyssa Shugarman (500 free, 1,650 free), two All-MAC First Team selections in Shugarman and Claire Young, along with an All-MAC Second Team honoree in Ali Staver. 

Tretter is a former Division I swimmer, specializing in breaststroke at Cleveland State University. While a Viking, the Zelienople, Pa. native set the school records in 100 and 200 breaststroke events, was awarded the James LaMastra Award, and qualified for the U.S.A. Swimming National Qualifiers. 

Along with her swimming background, Tretter comes to Eastern Michigan with experience in the strength and conditioning field. After completing an internship with strength and conditioning department at her alma mater, she spent the past year at Total Pursuit Athletics.

Tretter holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Cleveland State, which she earned in 2018.
