Kyle Creasy is in his second year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Eastern Michigan University after joining the department in October of 2021.

Creasy arrived in Ypsilanti after spending three years at Erlanger Health System in Tennessee. There he was the Head Athletic Trainer for Ooltewah High School, providing medical coverage for the largest public high school in Hamilton County.

Prior to that, he was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2014-18. In charge of men’s basketball for the Mocs, Creasy also oversaw the track & field/cross country program. While there, the men’s basketball team won the Southern Conference regular-season and tournament championship during the 2015-16 season.

Creasy began his basketball experience with the NBA Development League’s Erie BayHawks as their Head Athletic Trainer from 2010-14. He provided daily medical coverage for all team members including acute injury care, rehabilitation, and injury prevention techniques.

He also spent time in Erie, Pa. assisting both Mercyhurst University and the Erie Otters Hockey Club. Creasy was able to be part of the women’s hockey team’s national runner-up finish in 2008-09 and a Frozen Four appearance in 2009-10.

Creasy earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine-Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University in 2005 and attained his Master’s of Organizational Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University.

He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as certification in dry needling (SFDN1).

He and his wife, Melissa, have two children, Kolten and Kaitlyn.
