Seth Thomsen is in his third year as Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Eastern Michigan University. At EMU, Thomsen works directly with the men’s basketball and baseball programs.
Thomsen joined the Eagles after serving as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. While at UVU, Thomsen was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Strength & Conditioning Department that included 16 Division I teams. He directly oversaw the women’s basketball, baseball, volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s soccer, while assisting with others.
Prior to his time in Utah, Thomsen spent time as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Marshall University, Sports
Performance Coach at United Health Services and Chenango Forks High School. He also completed internships at Harvard University and Binghamton University.
The South New Berlin, NY native received a Master’s Degree in Exercise science from the California University of Pennsylvania in 2019, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Oneonta State in 2016. Thomsen played four years of college basketball at Oneonta, and has a certification from the NSCA (CSCS).
