Andrew Kang wll begin his third season as the Director of Operations in 2021-22. In this role, the Los Angeles, Calif. native is responsible coordinating Eastern's travel arrangements, budget, marketing, community service, camps equipment, supervising the managerial staff, and various other administrative duties.
Kang was a member of the EMU men’s basketball staff in multiple capacities since 2014. He served as a manager for the Green and White during the 2014-15 season before being elevated to the head manager position the next season, where he oversaw six student managers and assisted with player development and drill work.
During the 2017-18 campaign, Los Angeles native stepped into a new role as the graduate assistant for EMU. His primary role was to serve as the video coordinator where he taped practice and games, edited film, and assisted coaches in scouting reports. He also worked directly with the Director of Basketball Operations to assist with travel plans, meal preparations, hotel arrangements, and transportation.
While at Eastern, Kang has worked at numerous college basketball summer camps including Syracuse University, University of Virginia, University of Arizona, and at EMU.
Kang also spent 10 years in the airline industry. He had an eight-year stint as a customer service supervisor with the Fortune 500 Company, Delta Airlines, and was a station supervisor for Pinnacle Airlines for two years. During his time as an airline supervisor, he was responsible for budgeting and holding corporate events for the airline’s global partners.
Kang is a 2016 graduate of Eastern Michigan with a degree in business management and went on to receive a master’s degree in sport management at EMU.
