EMU Athletics Tuition Toss Eligibility and Criteria

1. DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTEST: The EMU Athletics Tuition Toss is designed to give back to the student body at Eastern Michigan University and reward full-time students in good standing who embody Eastern Michigan Eagle fandom.

2. BINDING AGREEMENT: In order to enter the Tuition Toss, you must agree to these Official Rules. Therefore, please read these rules before entry to ensure you understand and agree. You agree that registration of a participant in the Tuition Toss constitutes agreement to be bound by these rules. You may not submit an Entry to the Contest and are not eligible to receive the prizes described in these Rules unless you agree to these rules. These rules form a binding legal agreement between you and the sponsors with respect to the contest.

3. ELIGIBILITY: The Tuition Toss is open to individuals currently enrolled full-time in classes at Eastern Michigan University. Participants must be in good academic standing and have no conduct sanctions with the Office of Student Conduct. Students must attend Tailgate Town, the student tailgate, between 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., and check in at registration table, verify that they have downloaded the My Eagle Rewards smartphone applications and attend the EMU football game corresponding to the date of the contest.  EVERY PARTICIPANT MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE.

4. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY:  No payment, proof of purchase, entry fee, or other consideration of any kind is required to be eligible to win.  The Tuition Grant is a promotional event that does not involve the payment of money or giving of consideration for the chance to win and does not involve a purchase of a product or service for more than its fair market value.

5. CONTEST PERIOD: The Tuition Toss will have two separate dates, Oct. 29, and Nov. 14, in which students are encouraged to visit Tailgate Town to begin their registration.

6. COMPETITION: Two students will be randomly selected with each having the chance to choose a Swoop mascot who will toss footballs into a customized football container from 10 yards out. Whomever gets the most footballs through the container within 60 seconds will win a one year tuition grant to EMU.   If the chosen person does not come forward to participate at the time of the selection, EMU may select alternate participants.

7. PRIZE FOR WINNING CONTESTANT: The winning contestant will receive AN in-state tuition grant for one academic year, the winter and fall semesters of 2016, to Eastern Michigan University. The grant will cover 24 undergraduate credit hours with a max of 12 credit hours per semester or 18 graduate credit hours with a max of 9 credit hours per semester. The prize will include tuition only, without fees or cash equivalent. Students expecting graduation at the conclusion of the 2016 winter semester will receive a single semester of tuition to EMU. There is no cash prize.

8. WINNING ENTRANTS:  The winner agrees to participate in post-drawing publicity promotions and to permit EMU to use his/her name and likeness in promotional and other materials, without additional compensation or permission, except where prohibited by law.  The winner also agrees that their name and prize amount will be given to other entrants upon request.  The winner will be required to provide personal identification and verification of identity to claim prize.  The winner also will be required to verify eligibility in writing and liability/publicity release within fourteen days of drawing or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate entrant selected.  EMU reserves the exclusive right to determine whether any entrant meets any pre- or post-drawing requirement to claim any prize.

9. DISQUALIFICATION: Any false information provided within the context of the Tuition Toss by any participant concerning identity, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, ownership of right or non-compliance with these Official Rules or the like may result in the immediate disqualification of the participant.

10. POLICIES: Awards are subject to all limitations and policies of institution aid at Eastern Michigan University. Students already receiving full tuition and fees will not receive any additional aid benefit if they win the Tuition Toss.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Prizes are awarded without warranty of any kind from Eastern Michigan University, express or implied, without limitation, except where this would be contrary to federal, state, or local laws or regulations. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Registration of a participant in the Tuition Toss constitutes agreement by the participant to the terms and conditions of these rules.

12. FORFEITURE OF PRIZES: If a tuition GRANT grand prize winner is in the Conduct process at the time the prize is won and is later found responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code, the prize will be forfeited.
