Varsity Field has been the home of the Eagles’ softball team since the 1980’s. The stadium has a renovated press box (1998) and includes a large bleacher seating area that can accommodate more than 500 fans. In 2007, a turf outdoor cage and new equipment room were added. The Eagles also have a new locker room with 25 lockers and a storage area at Varsity Field, added after the 2008 season. There were also a new fence, sound system and backstop installed in the spring of 2011. Also during the fall of 2012, Eastern installed new dirt for both the field of play and the warning track at Varsity Field, while adding a new digital scoreboard just outside of the fence in left field.
