Academic Mentoring Meetings
The main objective of the program is to act prior to the development of problems, thus alleviating the stress and strain of trying to "fix" them later. A second objective of the program is to enable students to become self-sufficient in guaranteeing their own academic success by developing strong academic success skills. Many new students, along with returning students who have been identified as having academic difficulties, are assigned to the program. The program consists of weekly meetings with a member of the SASS professional staff. During these meetings, the student-athlete and the mentor work together tracking progress in class, developing better time management skills, and assessing and improving study habits and skills
