You're invited to Parents and Family Day 2011 at EMU! This is a perfect opportunity to spend a beautiful fall day with your son or daughter in their college environment. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us.
Friday, Sept. 30
Cars 2 @ 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Bring the family for this FREE showing of Cars 2 in the Student Center Auditorium.
Saturday, Oct. 1
EMU Alumni Tailgate @ 11 a.m.
Family, friends and fans welcome!
Enjoy food and fun before the game. Socialize with your child and his or her friends under the big tent. Meet other parents, alumni and school administrators. Watch the cheer team sing the fight song. Head over to Tailgate Town for additional fun. Suggested donation of $3 per person to enjoy the food, fun and festivities of the tailgate. Proceeds benefit the Alumni Association Student Scholarship for children of EMU alumni who are also attending EMU. Be sure to check in at the EMU Parents and Family Table at the tailgate to get your special EMU gift!
EMU vs. Akron @ 1 p.m.
Calling all Band Boosters and Eagle Rooters: Cheer our football team as they battle Akron. Before the game, enjoy FREE inflatables and other games in the Eagle's Landing Family Fun Zone. $5 tickets can be purchased on day of game at the EMU Ticket Office located in the Convocation Center directly adjacent to Rynearson Stadium or in advance by phone 734.487.2282 or online at www.emich.edu/convocation/purchase_tickets.html

Bring the family for this FREE showing of Cars 2 in the Student Center Auditorium.
Detroit Symphony Orchestra @ 8 p.m. at Pease Auditorium
Led by music director Leonard Slatkin, the DSO will perform at Pease Auditorium. The program for each is concert amounts to about an hour of music with no intermission and includes excerpts from Beethoven's Fifth and Symphony and Dvorak's "New World Symphony," Paul Dukas' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," and music by Wagner, Weber and Richard Rodgers.

Antique Truck Show
Trucks of all kinds roll into Ypsilanti for the Antique Truck show. Hosted by the Southeast Michigan Chapter of the Antique Truck Historical Society, these trucks strut their stuff on the banks of the Huron River every year. Come down to Riverside Park and have a great time.
