Eagles will begin their first season of play in Spring 2027
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The first roster for the Eastern Michigan University flag football program has been released with 23 student-athletes set to represent the Eagles in their inaugural 2027 campaign, EMU Head Coach Jesse Siordia announced today, Aug. 17. The roster features players from six states and two international locations, including nine hailing from the state of Michigan.
"We've assembled a group that brings experience, high-level skill, and incredible potential," Siordia said of his initial roster. "From proven NAIA veterans and key transfers to top high school athletes and hidden gems from across Michigan, this team has all the pieces to establish our identity immediately. The energy and hunger this group brings is exactly what we need to build a championship foundation."
Along with the nine Eagles from Michigan, the roster will feature players from Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, and New York, with one each from both Canada and Mexico. The roster also features 16 players that have transferred to Eastern Michigan after competing for flag football teams at other institutions, including nine players from Siena Heights University, the 2026 NCFFL National Champions, and one from Warner University, winners of the 2026 NAIA National Championship.
The nine players on the Eastern roster that helped the Saints to a national championship at the NCFFL tournament under Siordia include three native Michiganders in Cam Cherry (Highland Park, Mich./Redford Union HS/Siena Heights), Helen Flores (Rochester Hills, Mich./Adams HS/Siena Heights) and Adel Hoglund (Davisburg, Mich./Holly HS/Siena Heights) along with Jordan Bailey (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Piper HS/Siena Heights), Maycie Bassett (Goodyear, Ariz./Canyon View HS/Siena Heights), Brooke Cooper (Middleburg, Fla./Middleburg HS/Siena Heights), Kyamora Dunn (Brooklyn, N.Y./James Madison HS/Siena Heights), Adrian Griffin (Marana, Ariz./Marana HS/Siena Heights), and Bre Saunders (Goodyear, Ariz./Millennium HS/Siena Heights). Additionally, Mylanka Brassard (Ottawa, Ontario/DME Academy/Warner) was a member of the Warner program that went undefeated in 2026 and won the NAIA title.
The remaining six Michiganders on the roster included one transfer in Kamaira Crawford (Ypsilanti, Mich./Huron HS/Alabama State), who helped start the first NCAA Division I program while at Alabama State University, and five recent high school graduates in Emma Adamczyk (Howell, Mich./Brighton HS), Lauren Hammond (Howell, Mich./Charyl Stockwell Prep), Skyann Penn (Westland, Mich./Wayne Memorial HS), and Addison Wallace (Gibraltar, Mich./Carlson HS). Additionally, Marisa Cribari (Canton, Mich./Canton HS) has joined the program after spending the 2025-26 academic year as a member of the Eastern Michigan women's basketball team.
The remaining six American players on the roster hail from across the nation, including a trio of freshmen in Armani Rodgers (Gilbert, Ariz./Williams Field HS) from Arizona, California native and Team USA member Lia Cruz (El Centro, Calif./Calexico HS/St. Thomas (Fla.)), and Madison Ojeda (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Western HS) from Florida. The group also boasts three transfers in Natalie Busch (Navarre, Fla./Navarre HS/Baker), Lily Greenfield (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community HS/Illinois Wesleyan), and Clare Strong (Fairbury, Ill./Prairie Central HS/Rockford/Aurora). Supporting the Program
The EMU Flag Football Campaign aims to garner support as the program looks to reach its goal of $5,000 and support can now double their impact as Regent Emeritus Fran Parker has personally issued a $2,000 matching challenge to the Eastern Michigan community!
Head Coach Jesse Siordia knows what it takes to compete at a high level. As the state of Michigan's first collegiate varsity coach at Siena Heights, he led the program to the 2026 National Collegiate Flag Football Championship in just his second season. His impact extends well beyond the collegiate level. He has also been a driving force in the growth of flag football throughout Michigan for nearly a decade through his involvement with UA Under the Lights & Gridiron Flag Football. To give Coach Siordia and our student-athletes the championship-level start they deserve, we've set an initial goal to raise $5,000 and hope you will consider helping the Eagles grow.
