Mohammad Habhab Named to MAC All-Freshman Team

Habhab averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University men's basketball redshirt freshman Mohammad Habhab has been recognized in the Mid-American Conference's annual awards as a member of the MAC All-Freshman Team, as voted on by the conference's 13 head coaches and revealed Wednesday, March 11.
Habhab (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn/Central Michigan) averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game during the 2025-26 season. He is one of just five players nationally to average 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists. Habhab and Monmouth's Jason Rivera-Torres are the only two players to also average at least 1.0 blocks.
The redshirt freshman finished the campaign with 10 double-doubles, the most by an Eagle since Boubacar Toure's 13 in the 2018-19 season and the most by an EMU freshman since James Thompson IV's 19 in the 2015-16 slate. Additionally, Habhab produced the first triple-double in Eastern Michigan history with a dynamic showing against Oakland, Nov. 21, leading EMU to a 97-91 win behind 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Habhab, whose 43 blocks rank fifth in the MAC, closed the season with an impressive 15-straight games with at least one rejection, the first Eagle to do so since Thompson IV recorded 16 games in a row with one block or more to close the 2017-18 season.
Habhab joins Arne Osjonik (2023-24), Mo Njie (2021-22), Thompson IV (2015-16), Brandon Bowdry (2006-07), Carlos Medlock (2005-06), and Lorenzo Neely (1997-98) as the seven Eagles to be named to the All-MAC Freshman Team.
Eastern finished the 2025-26 season 10-21 overall and 4-14 in the MAC.
