Each student-athlete earned recognition for first time

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Annalyse Bauer and Rosalie Takacsy were named MAC Players of the Week for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team as the MAC revealed its weekly winners Tuesday, Oct. 6.

Bauer (Latrobe, Pa./Greater Latrobe) and Takacsy (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) connected on a corner kick goal to lead Eastern over Ball State, Oct. 1, as Takacsy's lofted ball found Bauer's head to put EMU up, 1-0, in the 43rd minute.

Bauer has emerged as a budding star in her freshman season, netting one goal in each of the last two matches while seeing her top-two minute totals of the season. Bauer netted the game-winning goal against Ball State, Oct. 1, before putting Eastern ahead with a 41st-minute goal against Kent State, Oct. 4. Bauer set a career high with 54 minutes played against the Cardinals before seeing 53 minutes of action against the Golden Flashes.

Takacsy has been a mainstay for Eastern, playing all 90 minutes in each of the last three matches. Takacsy's assist against Ball State, Oct. 1, yielded the game-winner while her presence on the pitch helped Eastern secure two wins last week.

Eastern improved to 4-0-1 in MAC play and EMU's 13 points through five matches are its most since 1999. Eastern's 4-0 start at home represents the first time EMU has been 4-0 at home since 2014.

Christie Fransen (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster/Bowling Green) and Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) have been honored by the MAC twice this season while Reese Carpenter (Terrace Park, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame/Creighton) has been recognized once.
