Habhab Posts Double-Double as Eastern Falls at No. 6 Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (EMUEagles.com) – Mohammad Habhab recorded his fifth double-double of the season as the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team fell at powerful sixth-ranked University of Louisville, 87-46, Monday, Nov. 24, at the KFC Yum! Center.
Habhab (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn/Central Michigan) posted 12 points and 11 rebounds while adding a career-high four steals as Eastern held Louisville to its second-lowest point total in its six games this season.
Carlos Hart (Miami, Fla./North Miami/Valdosta State) was the other Eagle to reach double figures in points, scoring 11 while going 9-of-10 from the free throw line.
How It Happened
Jon Sanders II (Detroit, Mich./Southfield Christian/Northwestern State) scored the game's first basket before Louisville launched a 15-0 run that saw the Eagles go scoreless for 6:35 of game time.
Louisville extended its lead to as many as 22 at 31-9 in the first half but an 8-2 run for EMU drew Eastern to within 33-17 at halftime.
The Cardinals' offense got hot in the second half, scoring 29 of the period's first 41 points to lead 63-29 before a 7-0 EMU run.
UL scored the next nine points before ultimately gaining its largest advantage of the game with a pair of three pointers in the last 1:21 to win, 87-46.

» Eastern was 16-of-57 (28.1%) from the field and 2-of-15 (13.3%) from the three-point line, while Louisville was 30-of-62 (48.4%) from the floor and 14-of-33 (42.4%) from three-point range.
» EMU was outrebounded, 45-36, but hauled in 11 offensive rebounds. Eastern, which won with only four offensive boards against Oakland, Nov. 21, has at least 10 offensive rebounds in five of the season's first six games for the second-straight season. Previously, no EMU team had recorded double-digit offensive boards in five of the first six games since the 2018-19 season.
