YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Sophomore Olivia Sipsock and redshirt sophomore Sophia Baumann scored for the Eastern Michigan University soccer team in a 2-2 draw against Central Michigan University Thursday, Sept. 19, at Scicluna Field in a match that served as the teams' Mid-American Conference openers.
All four goals came in the first half as the teams each earned one point with the draw.
How It Happened
Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) scored the match's first goal at the 11:57 mark off of a cross from sophomore Kate Robinson (Madison Heights, Mich./Lamphere), who was set up by senior Maddie O'Farrell (Haslett, Mich./Lansing Catholic).
CMU netted goals in the 25th and 34th minutes to take the lead.
Baumann (Romeo, Mich./Romeo) scored her first career goal with a left-footed strike from eight yards out after securing a long ball from junior Mary Grimes (Commerce Township, Mich./Walled Lake Central), bringing the score even at 2-2.
Redshirt sophomore Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made a diving save in the 87th minute to keep the match level as neither team scored in the second half.
Eastern Michigan led in shots by a 14-7 margin while Central Michigan led in corners by an 8-3 margin.

» Eastern moved to 4-3-1 on the year while Central Michigan moved to 2-4-2.
» Sipsock scored her fourth goal of the season, one shy of her season total from 2023.
» After leading the MAC with seven assists in 2023, Robinson tallied her first assist of the 2024 campaign.
