YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics is thrilled to announce Retro Arcade Day, sponsored by DTE, taking place on Saturday, Feb. 17, as part of an exciting basketball doubleheader at the George Gervin GameAbove Center. Fans are invited to step back in time and relive the nostalgia of classic arcade games while cheering on their Eagles.
Retro Arcade Day promises to be an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a retro gaming wonderland, with a wide array of classic arcade games available to play, including Galaga, Ms. Pac-Man, Street Fighter, Donkey Kong, Tetris, Centipede, Puzzle Bobble, and others.
Doors will open at 12 p.m. ahead of the women's basketball game against Northern Illinois University, with the arcade festivities kicking off immediately. The games will remain in place through halftime of the men's game against Bowling Green State University, which is anticipated to tip-off around 3:30 p.m. Admission to Retro Arcade Day is included with the purchase of a ticket to the basketball game. In addition to the arcade games, EMU will be hosting an E-sports Tournament with competitors playing NBA 2K24 on a PS5. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. with a 32-person bracket (EMU student-only), that will be a single elimination format with the winner receiving a $200 Meijer gift card . The finals will be played on EMU's 13-foot wide atrium video board following the men's basketball game.

Additionally, there will be happy hour pricing for all beer selections at the concession stands from 12-3:30 p.m.
