Eagles open MAC play Saturday, Jan. 4, against Northern Illinois
DAVIDSON, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team was topped at Davidson College, 86-64, Saturday, Dec. 28, at John M. Belk Arena.
Da'Sean Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul) led Eastern with 16 points as the Eagles struggled offensively in the game's early stages.
How it Happened
After a fire alarm caused more than a 20-minute delay, Davidson burst out of the gates with a 24-4 advantage over the first 11:40.
The teams played even the remainder of the half as Davidson took a 41-21 lead into the locker room.
Eastern battled back to within 69-55 with 6:47 to play before the Wildcats extended their lead to as many as 27 in the final minute.

» Eastern moved to 6-6 overall while Davidson moved to 10-3 on the season.
» Eastern Michigan was 23-of-57 (40.4%) from the floor and 9-of-27 (33.3%) from three-point range while Davidson was 26-of-49 (53.1%) from the field and 12-of-24 (50.0%) from deep.

» Jalin Billingsley (Cleveland, Ohio Lutheran East Georgetown) registered two steals for the second time this season and first time since Dec. 3 at Loyola Chicago.
