Da'Sean Nelson Named MAC Co-Player of the Week

Nelson averaged 21.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.7 apg over three games
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University men's basketball senior forward Da'Sean Nelson has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Player of the Week, the MAC announced Monday, Dec. 3.
Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul), who averaged 21.0 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game for the week, equaled his career high with 24 points against the University of Detroit Mercy, Nov. 30. Nelson scored 24 points against Villanova University, Jan. 10, 2023, with DePaul University.
In addition to his 24 points against the Titans, Nelson also scored 19 points in the win at Houston Christian University, Nov. 25, and 20 points in the win against then-5-1 Northern Arizona University, Nov. 26.
Nelson has at least four rebounds in every game this season and multiple assists in each of the last four, also tallied a trio of blocks and a pair of steals on the week. Nelson set a career high with nine made field goals at Houston Christian, Nov. 25, before converting a career-high nine free throws against UDM, Nov. 30.
Nelson is the first Eagle since Tyson Acuff to receive the honor. Acuff received the recognition, Feb. 19, 2024, after a 34-point effort against Bowling Green, Feb. 17, 2024.
Nelson shared the honor with Ball State's Jermahri Hill.
