Terry equaled his career high against Mastodons
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Jalen Terry equaled his career high with 28 points as the Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team dropped a 99-76 non-conference result against Purdue Fort Wayne Sunday, Dec. 15, at the George Gervin GameAbove Center.
Terry (Flint, Mich. Beecher/Oregon/DePaul) scored 28 for the second time this season with a career-high 11 made field goals.
How it Happened
Purdue Fort Wayne started fast, opening the game with a 26-9 spurt. The Eagles bounced back with a 16-7 run before the Mastodons led at the half, 48-34.
PFW, which knocked home 11 second-half three-pointers, expanded its lead to as many as 32 at 98-66 with 2:28 to go prior to the final result of 99-76.

» Eastern moved to 5-5 overall while Purdue Fort Wayne moved to 8-4 on the season.
» Eastern Michigan was 26-of-61 (47.5%) from the floor and 6-of-21 (28.6%) from three-point range while Purdue Fort Wayne was 35-of-64 (54.7%) from the field and 20-of-39 (51.3%) from deep.
» PFW's 20 made three-pointers are the most by an Eastern foe since at least the 2008-09 season. The 20 made triples also set a George Gervin GameAbove Center record.
» Eastern's 40 points in the paint is its most since tallying 48 in the 74-73 win at Houston Christian, Nov 25.
» Terry increased his scoring average to 16.3 ppg, leading the team and sixth in the MAC.
» In addition to his career-high 11 made field goals, Terry, who was 4-for-11 from long range, registered his third game of the season with at least four made three-pointers.
» Jalen Billingsley (Cleveland, Ohio Lutheran East Georgetown) led the Eagles in rebounding with nine boards, his third highest total this season. He was one rebound short of a double-double, netting 16 points, his second-highest mark of the season.
» Billingsley was 6-for-6 at the free throw line, setting a career high in made free throws.
» Da'Sean Nelson (Toledo, Ohio/Robert S. Rogers/Kilgore College/DePaul) tallied two blocks for the fourth time in his career.
» Nelson also equaled his season high with four assists, last coming at Oakland, Nov. 21.
» PFW outscored EMU in bench points, 37-6.

» EMU moved 3-2 against PFW.
» EMU tallied 13 assists, marking its ninth-straight game with at least 10 assists, the Eagles' longest streak since a 13-game streak in 2017-18.
» The Eagles forced nine turnovers, snapping a streak of nine games in which Eastern had forced at least 10 turnovers, its longest streak since the 2021-22 season.
» Eastern, which hit six threes against Purdue Fort Wayne, has now hit at least one triple in 622-straight games. EMU last failed to score from downtown Jan. 24, 2004, when Miami University held the Eagles to 0-of-7 from behind the arc. The Eagles have converted multiple three-pointers in 45-straight contests, not having done so most recently in a 1-for-15 performance against Akron, Feb.14, 2023. EMU has 11-consecutive games is the Eagles' longest since a 15-game streak extending from the 2020-21 to the 2021-22 season.
